Tips From The Yoga Room
Santosha: Contentment
Sam – Completely or entirely
Tosha - acceptance, satisfaction, and contentment

Contentment seems like a fairly straightforward and easy concept, but it can be more difficult than it sounds to actually put into practice. Santosha can also be viewed in two ways: as an attitude and as a profound sense of inner peace. The attitude is the gateway to inner peace. This could mean not getting too attached to any one outcome, just being content with what is. Even if your life didn't turn out the way you thought it would when you were younger, it means being content with what has happened and accepting where you are. This does not mean settling for a bad situation–if you need or want to change something, you can, but embrace who you are and be content within yourself. Don't worry about what society tells us we should and shouldn't do. Don't think that once we have this or that, we'll finally be happy. Or if our lives had been different, we would have been happier. If we are content within ourselves, then if there is outer chaos or change, we have an anchor so we don't get dragged down by the situation or start telling ourselves negative stories about ourselves or our lives. Practice mindful living and develop a positive mindset. Santosha extends into every aspect of our daily lives, guiding us to live with contentment and gratitude.
